Drei Menschen sind infolge einer Schießerei in einem privaten Bus in der Stadt Rockford (Staat Illinois) ums Leben gekommen. Dies teilte die Stadtpolizei auf Facebook mit.
Der Vorfall ereignete sich demnach in der Nacht auf Samstag (Ortszeit). Die Polizisten sollen am Tatort drei Leichen mit Schusswunden vorgefunden haben. Laut den vorläufigen Ermittlungsergebnissen hat sich im Bus ein weiterer Passagier befunden. Er soll das Feuer eröffnet haben und danach verschwunden sein.
Der Busfahrer, der von den Passagieren am Vorabend engagiert worden war, meldete den Vorfall bei der Polizei. Die Identität des Täters konnte bereits festgestellt werden.

ROCKFORD, Ill. – On Saturday, April 7, 2018, at approximately 3:25 a.m., officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to the 400 block of N. Springfield to investigate a report of multiple individuals being shot. Responding officers found three victims deceased inside a private charter limousine style coach. The limousine style coach had been rented by private citizens on Friday, April 6. The identities of the three victims are being withheld pending notifications to the respective families.
Rockford Police Department detectives are conducting an investigation into the incident. The preliminary investigation has revealed that one of the individuals on the coach, identified as Raheem King, was armed with an assault rifle and shot three individuals who were also passengers on the chartered coach. The shooting was reported to have occurred in the area of Auburn Street and N. Johnston Avenue while the vehicle was traveling. Shortly after the shooting incident, the passengers of the vehicle fled on foot. The driver remained on the bus and traveled to Springfield Avenue, just south of Auburn Street, where he contacted 911 and subsequently met with officers.
The results of the investigation have been reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, charges have been authorized and an arrest warrant was obtained for Raheem King for the listed charges. A photo of King is attached.
