Er will Frankreichs veraltetes Rentensystem vereinfachen, das mehr als 40 verschiedene Pensionsformen umfasst. Mit der Rentenreform will die Mitte-Regierung Privilegien für bestimmte Berufsgruppen wie die Eisenbahner auf längere Sicht abschaffen. Außerdem will die Regierung Anreize geben, über das Rentenalter hinaus zu arbeiten.
